Grand Canyon National Park, in Northern Arizona, encompasses 278 miles (447 km) of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. Located on ancestral homeland of 11 Associated Tribes, Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular examples of erosion anywhere in the world—unmatched in the incomparable vistas it offers visitors from the rims.
Hoodoos (irregular columns of rock) exist on every continent, but here is the largest concentration found anywhere on Earth. Situated along a high plateau at the top of the Grand Staircase, the park's high elevations include numerous life communities, fantastic dark skies, and geological wonders that defy description
Discover a landscape of contrasting colors, land forms, and textures unlike any other. The park has over 2,000 natural stone arches, hundreds of soaring pinnacles, massive rock fins, and giant balanced rocks. This red-rock wonderland will amaze you with its formations, refresh you with its trails, and inspire you with its sunsets.
Petrified Forest National Park is in northeastern Arizona. In its south, the Rainbow Forest is full of colorful petrified wood. Petrified Forest is best known for its Triassic fossils. It's like having two parks in one, an ecosystem over 200 million years old with plants and animals now represented in the surreal landscape of the Painted Desert. There is also a living park with its own denizens adapted to a demanding environment.
Tucson, Arizona is home to the nation's largest cacti. The giant saguaro is the universal symbol of the American west. These majestic plants, found only in a small portion of the United States, are protected by Saguaro National Park, to the east and west of the modern city of Tucson. Here you have a chance to see these enormous cacti, silhouetted by the beauty of a magnificent desert sunset.
Our National Park educational tours are strategically designed to be inclusive considering each individual participants daily activity abilities. Our program itinerary is collectively created by our wildlife photographers and nature field specialist. Our educational tours are free of cost to program participants and we accept donations. On this itinerary, visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon landscape is a striking presentation of true beauty that everyone should experience in their lifetime. Participants will dazzle in the Canyon grand display while touring the Canyon South Rim Trails and nature center. Participants will learn scientific facts about minerals found at the Canyon and how the Canyon rocks hold the secrets to it's evolution over time.
On this itinerary, visit Zion Canyon and see spectacular views along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. Experience cliff walls surrounding both sides while being amazed by the abundance of wildlife such as bighorn sheep, mule deer and even Bald Eagle soaring high above Angels Landing. Participants will get opportunities to explore Zion geological formations up close and even take a short hike to the Canyon Overlook Trail. There are also amazing Birding opportunities to enjoy along the Riverside Walk.
On this itinerary, visit Bryce Canyon and see breathtaking hoodoos sandstone and stunning red rock geological formations. Participants will study the diverse terrain on foot while taking in the natural beauty of the Canyons landscape. Opportunities to view the Canyon from 9,100 ft elevation and speak with Park Rangers at the visitor center to learn the Canyons intriguing history and Native American legend of Bryce Canyon.
On this itinerary, visit Arches National Park for stargazing and see the vastness of our Universe. Participants will travel beyond planet Earth by sight while learning to use a telescope. Participants will be introduced to reading star charts and even join in on Astrophotography lessons accompanied by an exciting opportunity to photograph the Milky Way Galaxy. Arches National Park is a certified International Dark Sky Park.
On this itinerary, visit Saguaro National Park located in Tucson, Arizona and see the nation's largest cacti. Arizona is home to the towering saguaro cactus that can grow to be over 12 meters tall. Saguaro NP offers an array of wildlife such as Gila monsters, Roadrunners, Owls and birds of prey. Saguaro National Park is located in the Sonoran Desert one of only four major deserts in North America. Participants will learn about safety and the importance of native wildlife to healthy ecosystems.
On this itinerary, visit Petrified Forest National Park to experience Triassic period fossils while enjoying scenic views of the colorful badlands hills, flat-topped mesas of the Painted Desert and so much more. Participants will walk along trails where Dinosaurs once roamed and see the world's largest concentration of petrified wood that range in age from 20 million to 300 million years. Participants gain scientific exposure to develop interest in paleontology, archaeology and geology.
